The Reverend Dr. James L. Smith is a native of Louisville, Kentucky.
Dr. Smith is a graduate of Louisville Male High School, Bryant and Stratton Business College, and Simmons Bible College. He received a Master of Divinity degree and Doctor of Ministry degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky.
Since arriving at Second Baptist, Dr. Smith has been very active throughout the Coatesville community and has done much to foster growth within the church. Not only has the church increased in membership, finance, and outreach, there has been increased attendance at the Sunday Church School as well as Tuesday and Wednesday Bible studies.
Under Dr. Smith’s leadership, many new programs and activities have been developed and implemented. He is always busy counseling, advising, and interacting with members and the youth. He strives to enhance and stimulate the spiritual growth of the church family as he challenges all to become more mature in their relationship with the Lord.
Dr. Smith is married to Beverly Fox Smith. They have three children, Antoinette, DiAngelo & Lauren.
